Joshua Prieb inherited his love of iris from his dad. Originally from Fresno, California, Josh started a small iris patch in some vacant land on his father's property. His dad, Arnie, shared his own personal collection and Josh found that he got a lot of enjoyment out of planting and tending those first iris from his dad. Eventually, he started expanding his iris varieties to suit his own personal tastes.

In 2017, Josh and his family moved to Bellingham, Washington and then in 2021, the family moved to a small hobby farm on the outskirts of Bellingham and Josh started expanding his collection right away. He now has several hundred varieties of iris.

 

On this new hobby farm, Josh also had space to hybridize iris. He has learned through years of trial and error and to date, he has 3 registered varieties and continues to hybridize every year.
